Open Door Artist Talks

We are pleased to welcome

Gavin Parry

Photographer

Friday 3rd February from 7pm 8.15pm   £2 (includes a glass of wine!!)

Hebden Bridge based Photographer Gavin Parry subtly incorporates conventional photographic genres into highly individual outcomes.

His work encompasses documentary, social commentary, humour, obsession, portraiture and narrative.

“My photographic work evolves from a strong interest of a photo documentary tradition and the photograph’s relationship with the real. A photograph is no longer assumed to be a clear and unmediated ‘window on the world’, nevertheless, the photograph, more than any other visual medium still has a unique relationship with its subject, My work both celebrates and exploits this, with the work being a very liberal interpretation of documentary photography, yet very much belonging to this tradition.”
