Decorative Paint Effects with Steve Oxley from ’The School of Decorative Art’ NEW!

A new collaboration with master sign writer and decorative artist Steve Oxley who will lead you through
exercises using paints and glazes to replicate marble and wood grain finishes. You will make two samples panels to take home STEVE OXLEY
The Drawn Portrait with Simon Manfield

A day's introduction to portraiture with artist and illustrator Simon Manfield.
Working with a life model, students will work to hone their drawing skills, learning about facial anatomy and structure through measurement and observation.
Life Casting with Rebecca Truman NEW!

Life casting is a beautiful craft which captures the personality of the individual.Cast hands, faces, ears or feet depending on a willing model, who can either be other workshop members or models
brought along who participants wish to cast. Choose whether to do hands individually, holding hands with a friend or we can put family groups together.
Calligraphy - Celtic Knotwood Workshop NEW!

Celtic Knotwork patterns appeared in books, jewellery and stonework from the 8th century AD onward. Best known examples can be found in the Lindisfarne Gospels and the Book of Kells. We will start with very simple
basic techniques and work our way towards more complex designs which we will then fill with glorious colour
Thinking 3D…sculpture made easy Weekend course with Sally Barker
Sat 23rd/Sun 24th March £120 10.30am - 4.30pm
Work with sculptor Sally Barker and build your confidence making 3D forms on this fun 2 day course. Try construction and modelling with wire armature and mod-roc. Use different casting methods using clay, plaster, sand and alginate to make beautiful small and medium pieces.

Our day and weekend workshops offer a more intensive learning experience and the chance to work with practicing artists who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.
Basic materials are included in the price – higher priced courses reflect higher materials costs, technical input, model fees and ceramics firings. There may be occasional small additional specialist materials charges. We normally need a minimum of 8 people for a course to run and courses may be cancelled if this is not achieved
